Chiller project will reduce parking at Kellam Building
SAN MARCOS, TEXAS — Work will begin Tuesday, Aug. 8, on a construction project that will reduce the available parking spaces in the north parking lot at Southwest Texas State University’s J.C. Kellam Building.
Beginning Aug. 8, two lanes of parking spaces immediately adjacent to the East Chill Plant will be closed for a construction project that is expected to take 18 months to complete.
The project involves the total replacement of the East Chill Plant, including all existing chillers, pumps, piping, electrical switch gear and wiring. The loss of parking places for the duration of the construction project is necessary for the contractor to be able to deliver and install equipment successfully.
