Multicultural Job Expo set for April 6-7 at SWT

SAN MARCOS, TEXAS — Whether you are a college student searching for the perfect summer internship, a graduating senior or a professional looking to change career fields, the National Multicultural Job Expo at Southwest Texas State University on April 6 and 7 is where you need to be. For more than 10 years, SWT has hosted the expo, which will be held from10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Strahan Coliseum on both days, and is expected to attract 235 different companies and more than 3000 students.
The Office of Career Services at SWT, which hosts this two-day job fair, has invited employers from across the nation who are looking for prospective employees for a variety of positions, including permanent full time jobs and summer employment. Opportunities in almost every field of study from graphic arts and education to technology and chemistry will be offered. Although the Multicultural Job Expo is working towards culturally diversifying the workforce, it is open to all students and college graduates.
Conrad Rotenberry, recruiter of the Principal Life Insurance Co., said of the job fair, “The expo is a great resource for minority candidates who are graduating within a few months of the event. I have attended the last seven years and plan to continue attending each year.”
Business, industry and government employers will be featured April 6, while business, government and education employers will be featured on April 7.
