Wyatt named to new vice presidency at SWT
SAN MARCOS, TEXAS — Van Wyatt, who has overseen computer technology at the University of Houston at Clear Lake for the past five years, has been named vice president for information technology, a new position at Southwest Texas State University.
Wyatt will begin at SWT on Jan. 17.
Wyatt was at UHCL for 25 years, holding such positions as registrar, director of counseling, psychology faculty member, interim dean of education and vice president for student and academic services.
In 1994 he was named senior associate vice president for academic administration and information resources. He was UHCL’s chief information technology officer responsible for university computing and telecommunications, the instructional technology center, the library and university planning and institutional research.
In his new position at SWT, Wyatt will be in charge of library resources, long-distance learning, academic and administrative computing, media services and telephone operations.
Wyatt holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Rutgers University and a master’s and doctorate in counseling from Purdue University.
