SAN MARCOS, TEXAS — The recent death of a Southwest Texas State University student has been attributed to natural causes, university police said today.
“The death of Marcie Keilers has been determined by the medical examiner to have been the result of natural causes. There is no evidence of foul play,” said University Police Director John Megerson.
Megerson added that university police have closed their investigation into Keilers’ death.
The autopsy report has been forwarded by the medical examiner to Hays County Justice of the Peace Becky Sierra for her review.
Keilers, a junior from Temple, was found dead in her suite in a university residence hall on Jan. 24.
