Texas State hosts 9th annual international graduate research conference

The Graduate College at Texas State University will host the 9th Annual International Research Conference for Graduate Students on November 7-8.
The conference will take place at the LBJ Student Center. The conference is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
Approximately 150 graduate students from various disciplines at Texas State and other institutions will be presenting research papers and posters. Concurrent panel sessions with student presentations will take place 9 a.m.-3 p.m. November 8. Other highlights of the conference include:
- Conference Opening Panel and Poster Session Reception
A distinguished research panel consisting of award-winning faculty will open the conference 5-6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7. A reception and poster session will follow from 6-7:30 p.m. - Keynote Address and Awards Luncheon
Adam Key, speech instructor and director of the prison debate program at the Huntsville Center, Lee College, will deliver the keynote address, “In the First Degree: The Challenges and Benefits of Postsecondary Prison Education,” 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8. The talk also reflects Texas State’s 2017-2018 Common Experience theme, “The Search for Justice: Our Response to Crime in the 21st Century.” Awards will be presented to the winners of the research contest.
