In celebration of the 25th birthday  of the Alkek Library at Texas State University, a reenactment  of the 1990 Book-it Brigade will be held Wednesday, September 23 and stretch from Old Main to the steps of the Alkek.

Volunteers will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the Quad to form the line and get “Alkek @ 25” T-shirts. The book pass will start at 10 a.m.

When the Alkek opened its doors in 1990 to the campus the symbolic book began at the J.C. Kellam Building with students, staff, faculty and community members passing several books along a human chain.  The 2015 re-creation will originate at the university’s first building – Old Main.
