Texas State University will hold an event marking the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Round Rock campus at 4:45 p.m. October 14.

The event will take place at the Avery Building on the Round Rock campus, 1555 University Boulevard. The media is invited.

Scheduled speakers include Texas State President Denise Trauth and Provost Gene Bourgeois. A reception will follow.

The 125,000-square-foot Avery Building opened as the first permanent building at the Round Rock campus in 2005, named after the family who donated 101 acres of land for the campus--siblings A. Nelson Avery, John. S. Avery Sr., Charles M. Avery III and Christina Avery Fell. The state-of-the-art, 77,740-square-foot Nursing Building followed in 2010, housing the St. David’s School of Nursing. A 107,000-square-foot Health Professions Building is expected to open in 2018.

Enrollment at Texas State’s Round Rock campus totaled 1,809 as of the fall 2015 semester.
