The Texas State University Division of Dance will present "Venture," a showcase featuring the work of bachelor of fine arts performance and choreography candidates, April 9-10 in Evans Auditorium.

Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. both nights.

Texas State students Olivia Barto, Kristin Denson, Rachael Hodge, Desiree Kostelnik and Eileene Vicencio choreograph and produce a concert that exhibits their talent, commitment and artistry. The show will include pieces that use dance as a vehicle to promote social justice, as well as pieces that showcase the art of dance itself.

"Venture" will feature a collaboration with the Department of Anthropology to shine light on immigration issues in a creative and humane way; while another dance will tackle the relative subject of gender equality. "Venture" will also feature interpretations of the spoken word and an eclectic choice in music, including live music from students in the School of Music.

Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for students, senior citizens or military. Tickets may be purchased online at www.txstatepresents.com or at the door.
