Texas State University has received a $625,000 gift from University Federal Credit Union (UFCU) to help support student scholarships and programs on campus.

The gift will be paid in $125,000 installments over five years. Approximately 40 percent of UFCU's gift will go directly to student scholarships, with the remainder supporting student and alumni programs.

"We are very pleased that University Federal Credit Union has entered into a strategic partnership with Texas State to support our students and programs," said Vice President for University Advancement Barbara Breier. "We look forward to strengthening our partnership with them over the next five years."

The gift will help relieve some of the financial stress that students have about paying for college and will allow campus organizations and programs to grow and provide resources and activities that enrich campus life. Additionally. UFCU will provide financial literacy workshops to help promote campus-wide financial well-being among faculty, staff and students.

UFCU has recently installed several ATM’s serving Texas State faculty, staff, students and visitors. There are currently four serving Bobcat Stadium, two serving the Strahan Coliseum, with two additional campus locations coming to the Student Recreation Center and the Alkek Library. They have also placed an ATM on the Round Rock campus.
