Carol of the Bones

The Texas State University Trombone Choir has released the group's debut album, "Carol of the Bones," just in time for the holidays.

The album is available on the Kairoi Music label.

Under the direction of Martin McCain, the Trombone Choir's recording showcases works that were arranged specifically for the ensemble, including Jack Wilds’ arrangement of Ralph Vaughan-Williams’ "Fantasia on Christmas Carols." The Fantasia project was in collaboration with the Texas State University Concert Chorale under the direction of Joey Martin, John Schmidt on organ and Ron Uhlen, baritone.

The album was recorded April 29-May 1 in Evans Auditorium on the Texas State campus. It was recorded by Angel Vidal, mixed and edited by Vidal and Eliud Garcia and mastered by Marshall Breedlove.

The complete track listing of "Carol of the Bones" includes the Christmas favorites, "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day," "A Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting)," "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer," "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "Let It Snow," "Fantasia on Christmas Carols," "Angels We Have Heard on High" and "What Child Is This?"
