Author Olga Broumas to hold readings at Wittliff, KAP House

The Katharine Anne Porter Literary Center and the Wittliff Collections at Texas State University-San Marcos will host readings and book signings from author Olga Broumas Sept. 27-28.

Broumas will speak and sign copies of her books at the Wittliff Collections located on the seventh floor of Alkek Library on the Texas State Campus 3:30 p.m. Sept. 27. She will also give a reading and book signing at the Katharine Anne Porter Literary Center in Kyle 7:30 p.m. Sept. 28. The events are free and open to the public.

Broumas is the author of the following books of poetry: Beginning with O; Soie Sauvage; Pastoral Jazz; with Jane Miller: Black Holes, Black Stockings; Perpetua; with T. Begley: Sappho's Gymnasium; and Rave: Poems, 1975-1999. She has also translated the books What I Love: Selected Poems by Odysseas Elytis; The Little Mariner by Odysseas Elytis; and Eros, Eros, Eros: Selected and Last Poems by Odysseas Elytis. She is the director of creative writing and a professor of English at Brandeis University.

The event is sponsored by the Burdine Johnson Foundation, the Wittliff Collections and the Texas State University Department of English. Books will be available during and after the event through the University Bookstore and Barnes and Noble.
