The Graduate College at Texas State University-San Marcos will host the fourth annual International Research Conference Nov. 7-8 on the Texas State campus.

The conference is an opportunity for graduate students from various fields to present their original research and receive feedback from experienced faculty members. It is open to graduate students from Texas State, other universities within the country and abroad. Last year 150 graduate students either authored or co-authored research presented at the conference.

Graduate students interested in presenting research papers must submit an abstract by Oct. 1, although any students may attend the conference even if they do not submit an abstract. All participants and attendees are required to register for the conference in advance. Undergraduate students currently enrolled in colleges and universities are also invited to attend the conference.

Highlights of this year’s conference include an international research panel moderated by Dennis Dunn, director of the Center for International Studies; a keynote address by Leon Stefanija, professor of musicology and faculty member at the University of Ljubljana, entitled “Nationalism and the Arts in our Globalizing World Today;” and a distinguished research panel with presentations by Texas State Distinguished Professors of Biology, Robert McLean and Paula Williamson.
