Faculty, grad students invited to research networking reception

Faculty and graduate students at Texas State University-San Marcos are invited to attend a research networking reception “Opportunities for Collaborative Research Reception: Children and Families across the Lifespan” from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Oct. 5 in the LBJ Student Center Ballroom.

The focus of the event will be to connecting new tenure-track faculty with existing researchers, grants, and community agencies as well as building collaborative, interdisciplinary relationships both on and off campus to support families, communities and Texas State students.

Confirmed exhibitors include the Office of Proposal Development, Community of Science Program, Texas School Safety Center, Center for Community Arts, CARES Clinic for Autism, Education Institute, Title IV-E Child Welfare Program, Strengthening Relationships Program, Troop and Family Support Initiative, Foster Youth Mentoring Project, Russian Initiative, Positive Youth Development Projects, Head Start, Adult Education, Community Action, Online Rural Child Welfare Education Project, First Generation College Student Project, and the Hartford Partnership for Aging Education Project. More exhibitors are expected.

A free lunch will be available and door prizes will be awarded throughout the event.

The research networking reception is co-sponsored by the Center for Children and Families, the Office of the Associate Vice President for Research, and the Council for Interdisciplinary Research and Grants. For further information contact the Center for Children and Families at ccf@txstate.edu.
