Texas State named among nation's top 'military friendly' schools

Due to its efforts to provide services, recruit and retain military veterans to its student body, Texas State University-San Marcos has been selected in the top 15 percent nationally for military friendly colleges by G.I. Jobs magazine.

Including Texas State on the list from more than 7,000 schools surveyed nationwide, G.I. Jobs' criteria include efforts to recruit and retain military and veteran students, results in recruiting military and veteran students and academic accreditations.

Among its efforts, Texas State offers its student veterans a variety of services including financial aid advising, personal counseling and job placement as well as efforts to bring awareness to students, faculty and staff about the presence of armed services veterans on campus as well as others.
