The Texas State University-San Marcos Stream Team will be hosting the 2009 Meeting of the Monitors: Protecting and Improving Water Quality July 17-19 at the T Bar M Resort Convention Center in New Braunfels.

This three day event is designed to encourage communication and networking between regulatory agencies, community members, volunteer monitors and other stakeholders. The conference will recognize volunteer water quality monitoring efforts, provide educational and professional development opportunities, and facilitate opportunities for social networking.

Each day of the event will have a different but complementary focus. Day one will concentrate on watershed protection including round-table efforts underway across Texas and discussing perspectives in watershed management. Day two will be the statewide Meeting of the Monitors, designed to recognize the hard work and dedication of Texas Stream Team monitors through volunteer recognition awards, water quality trainings and informative presentations. Day three of the event will include an optional half day of educational and engaging field trips.
