LBJ, Felix Longoria controversy topic of Patrick Carroll lecture

The Texas State University-San Marcos Department of History will host a lecture given by Patrick Carroll on Feb. 16 in room 101 of Taylor Murphy Hall at 6:30 p.m.

His lecture is titled “LBJ and the Felix Longoria Controversy: Loyalty, Patriotism, Honor, Courage and Pragmatism.”

Carroll is a professor of history at Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi. He is also the author of Felix Longoria's Wake: Bereavement, Racism and the Rise of Mexican American Activism.

This event is also sponsored by the Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society and the Hispanic Policy Network. A reception will follow Carroll’s lecture, where his book will also be available for purchase.
