The Texas State Strutters dance team will perform on NBC’s summer television series “America’s Got Talent” which kicks off its third season on Tuesday, June 17 with a two-hour special from 8-10 p.m. (Central).
The show also has two other two-hour episodes on June 24 and July 1. Beginning July 8, the show will run each Tuesday from 8-9 p.m.
Jerry Springer hosts the show that is presided over by celebrity judges David Hasselhoff, Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne. Each summer “America’s Got Talent” is NBC’s weekly reality show that features singers, dancers, comedians, contortionists, impressionists, jugglers, magicians and ventriloquists all performing for audience and judges votes to move on to the next round. The series culminates with a live finale where one act walks away with a million-dollar prize.
The Strutters were the nation’s first dance team organized by any major university campus in 1960 and have performed at professional football and basketball games, car races, rodeos, two U.S. Presidential inaugurations and the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade.
The Strutters were invited to audition for this season’s “America’s Got Talent” show in April and flown to Los Angeles, where they spent one day on the set. Fans can see how they performed this season by tuning in to this season’s shows that begin Tuesday night.
