The Writing Center at Texas State University-San Marcos is hosting a talent night on Feb. 21 from 5-7 p.m. at the center in Flowers Hall G09. The event is open to any person from any discipline.

Participants are allowed to read an essay, sing, dance, tell jokes, read poetry, yodel, beat-box, stand on their head or display any other crowd-pleasing talent. Jared Walls, writing tutor and graduate creative writing student, said at this event, anything goes.

“There’s really no strict guidelines,” Walls, a Huntsville native, said. “It is pretty much just an open mike night like you might find at a café. Anyone who is interested is encouraged to participate or be a spectator. It will be an entertaining experience.”

Those who would like to participate must contact Melinda Rothhouse by email at mr1357@txstate.edu or by phone at (512) 245-3018.
