Date of Release: 08/17/2006

SAN MARCOS — Officials at Texas State University-San Marcos and Blinn College have signed a formal agreement to ease the transfer of students from Blinn to Texas State.

The new articulation agreement establishes an easily transferable core curriculum and serves to assure Blinn students that identified courses will transfer to a degree program at Texas State with no loss of credit.

The agreement was signed into effect by Texas State President Denise M. Trauth and Provost Perry Moore and Blinn President Don E. Voelter and Vice President for Academic Affairs Robert Johnston, and includes 27 new transfer planning guides for degree programs in agriculture, business administration and education.

The transfer planning guides will aid Blinn students in the selection of courses prior to transferring to Texas State and will be available through Blinn’s academic counseling centers and on Texas State’s transfer credit webpage.

Blinn College is second only to Austin Community College in the number of students it sends to Texas State in transfer.
