Texas Music History Unplugged CD features stellar performances

Date of Release: 01/31/2005

SAN MARCOS —The Center for Texas Music History is pleased to announce the release of Texas Music History Unplugged 2004.

The live CD, recorded at the Texas Music History Unplugged concert held on the Texas State campus, showcases the diverse talents of stellar Texas artists. The album features 15 tracks, including the western swing and tongue-in-cheek wit of Ray Benson, the deep gospel blues and soul of Ruthie Foster, the penetrating, poetic lyrics and hardcore honky tonk of Chris Wall, and the soaring harmonies and mariachi guitar of the Sisters Morales.

Live and unrehearsed, the CD highlights these prominent musicians not only in their individual songs, but also backing each other beautifully in completely impromptu collaborations. The excitement of a unique and important live concert is captured for posterity on this professionally mixed and mastered CD.
